Handcrafted Original Art Glass Jewelry
As a lampwork art glass bead artisan, I work with a torch, glass rods, and a kiln to create original, unique, handcrafted beads. The beads are then integrated into my designs to make jewelry delights such as bracelets, necklaces, pendants, and earrings. In addition, I create fine silver accent pieces from Silver Art Clay.
I am a member of International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB), NorCal Chapter of ISGB, Member #1590 of Self-Representing Artists Jewelry Designers (SRAJD), Bead Society of Northern California, Placerville Arts Association, El Dorado Hills Arts Association, and El Dorado County Gem Society.
Born and raised in California, I was consumed for years with school, marriage, life in the business world while raising a beautiful daughter, and enjoying my small grandchildren. Always intrigued with art in one form or another, I kept searching for "my" medium. I've dabbled in drawing, painting, gardening, stained glass, photography. All were close, but they weren't quite the ultimate calling. It wasn't until I lit the torch and melted glass for the first time that I knew it was the art form that was for me.
I am blessed to be married to a man who completely supports and encourages my art. We live in Northern California where in our lovely yard are 50 rose bushes and 50 lavender plants along with a summer vegetable garden. I sit at my torch in my glass studio viewing that lushness as I draw the spirit of nature into the jewelry.
Fire Spirit Beads jewelry is currently available in 5 galleries, online at http://www.etsy.com/shop/FireSpiritBeads, at home jewelry parties, at select Art Shows, and in Fire Spirit Beads glass studio. |
